Yoga for Fertility Classes

In a Harvard-based study, women participating in a yoga and relaxation program had a pregnancy success rate almost 3 times greater than women who were not in the program!

Improve your chances of success by taking charge of the things you CAN control on your fertility path.  Join my Yoga for Fertility classes, and become part of a very supportive community of women, with opportunities to connect during our class check-in, on our Yoga for Fertility Facebook Group, and through our Yoga Buddy program.  At this time, classes are Live Online classes, meeting via Zoom, or On-Demand classes. 

The Yoga for Fertility classes include yoga poses, breathing practices and relaxation techniques to balance the body’s hormonal system, increase energy flow, reduce stress, and nourish the reproductive organs.  I offer modifications and specific yoga postures to support each cycle phase, whether you are TTC naturally, or using assisted reproductive technology.  I often incorporate some yoga philosophy concepts that can be helpful in dealing with the emotional and mental stress of fertility challenges. The classes are designed to address mind, body and spirit, optimizing your ability to conceive and enjoy a healthy pregnancy.

Class enrollment is limited to 15 students, so the class environment is small, personal and very supportive.  All experience levels are welcome. I also offer modifications for anyone doing assisted reproductive treatments such as IUI, IVF or FET cycles.  If you are already practicing yoga, it is highly recommended that you attend a session of Yoga for Fertility to learn how to use yoga to support your fertility, and how to adapt poses during various parts of your cycle.

I developed the curriculum for the Yoga for Fertility classes, starting in 2002, based on my extensive research on yoga and its effects on hormones and the reproductive system.  In class, we also use my book Yoga and Fertility, A Journey to Health and Healing In my teaching, I draw on my 20 years of yoga teaching experience, and my own personal challenges with fertility.  I am also a Certified Yoga Therapist, and a Master Teacher of Energy Medicine Yoga.

 
Thursday Evening Yoga for Fertility ONLINE Class

Thursdays,  7:00-8:30 pm PDT    Nov 4 – Dec 16  (6 wks, no class on Thanksgiving)

This class is open to women who are currently trying to conceive, either naturally or using assisted reproductive technology.  All levels of yoga experience are welcome.  If you are currently taking other yoga classes, Yoga for Fertility class will teach you how to modify your practice to better support your fertility, including for each phase of your cycle.  You will also receive a recording of each week’s practice, to use for home practice in between classes, or in case you miss a weekly Live class.

Sunday Evening Yoga for Fertility ONLINE Class

Sundays  5:30-7:00 pm PDT     Nov 7 – Dec 19  (7 wks)    
This class is open to women who are currently trying to conceive, either naturally or using assisted reproductive technology.  All levels of yoga experience are welcome. If you are currently taking other yoga classes, Yoga for Fertility class will teach you how to modify your practice to better support fertility, including for each phase of your cycle.  You will also receive a recording of each week’s practice, to use for home practice in between classes, or in case you miss a weekly Live class.

On-Demand Yoga for Fertility Classes 

This option is for anyone who is not able to attend the Live online classes at the times listed above.  If you register for this option, you will received the recordings of each Thursday evening Live class during the session, shortly after the Thursday Live class meets (by about 9:30 p.m. PDT on Thursdays).   The recording will be the complete class, except for the initial check-in with the Live class, so the recordings will generally be for a yoga practice of around 45-50 minutes, plus the instructor’s comments.  The recordings are yours to download, to allow you to practice on your own schedule.

I started doing yoga every day, and it helped me work through the grief of losing my mother in 2014, followed by a miscarriage in 2015.   All my friends told me I was too stressed to get pregnant, and I didn’t really know what they meant. I knew I was under an amazing amount of stress, but I didn’t know how to stop it. Doing yoga every day got me out of my head and helped me to listen to my body, and eventually helped reduce my stress and anxiety. I just have to say again how encouraged I am by the results I’m seeing (in doing the sequences consistently). Things that use to “trigger” me emotionally now have no impact on me (?!?!). I am so steady and regulated that I feel as though I am in a foreign body; historically I would have intense and unmanageable emotional and visceral reactions to triggers.
